Topic 1
After reading the textbook I have realized that that what seem to be living in a small town can be completely different than a big city or even small city. As a example “We may picture farmers, shopkeepers, laborers working in factories or mines’ ( Berns Roberta 378).
In this example it shows what people in city may imagine people in towns. Ironically the text book states it like that a little. People in small towns tend to be agricultural and woprking class. This of course affects children’s development, A child may get use to hard work, it may be all the child knows or can imagine. It can easily shape a child into being completely different than one growing up in a big city. Children in big cities are more prone to violence and crime. Giving them a sense of normality of these things.
Relationship in communities can be strong especially in small towns where most people know each other and look out for each other and one another children. In big cities there are nutrition, social services, and education for children and parents according to (Decker & Decker 2001)
