Option #1: Consulting in Business Process Reengineering

Assume the role of consultant to a large organization that isconsidering business process reengineering for one of its nationaldivisions. The organization has not undertaken this type ofreengineering before and needs your help to know what to expect. Writean academic paper, meaning APA, current scholarly research, andcitations and references, which may be used by the managementstakeholders to understand the following:

1. Why, according to research, should the organization considerbusiness process reengineering, meaning what advantages would businessprocess reengineering likely give the organization?
2. What is the tested business process reengineering “process” that you as the consultant would have the organization follow?
3. Who, according to research of a typical organization, will berequired from the organization according to your research into a typicalorganization and what roles will they play?
4. What problems, risks, failures, according to research, may resultand what treatment options are needed to offset those concerns?

Some say that only failing businesses try business processreengineering and so business process reengineering is doomed to fail.Write an academic paper, meaning APA, current scholarly research, andcitations and references to cover the following:

1. What type of organizations use business process reengineering andwhat is the current state of businesses’ success or failure at theinception of business process reengineering (i.e., are the businesses introuble)?
2. Why do businesses choose business process reengineering and what isthe success or failure rate of business process reengineering for thosewho employ it?
3. What causes business process reengineering to fail?
4. Is business process reengineering employed widely today or is it apast management fad from the past (if a past trend, what do businesseschoose to do today to improve processes)?
