Question Description

1. Matthew

The real issue in my eyes with health administrators and responsible use of technology is that not all of them are confident with using technology. This is because many of them grew up before the technological boom of the last few decades. To ensure responsible use of technology when dealing with people’s personal information, billing, and personal care; the administrators have to be aware of how technology can be used to help and harm. Most of the time people will just hire people who know the technological system in order to compensate which is a viable solution. The issue with that is that not everyone thinks the same way so breaches of information are a problem when using technology. Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world (1 John 4:1).

Now, unfamiliarity with the technological system of computers in the healthcare system is not an absolute problem. The issue is the implications of a breach of information into the healthcare system and how the sick could be taken advantage of if that happened by third parties. That is why safe use of technology is vital.

The safe use of technology is usually only something a person will learn by being literate with the technological systems of computers and growing up as a kid the learning curve is much easier to overcome than it is for the elders. To help with the learning curve of the never ending updating technological system people just need to be open to learning from any source possible. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). There is no absolute way to ensure responsible use of technology by everyone, but a person can make sure they are not the ones being the irresponsible one. The main thing I practice to trying not to worry about what everyone else is doing and make sure what I am doing is right as possible. Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life (Matthew 6:27)?

Technology is the new thing in todays society, we use cell phones, computers, cameras, now they establish air pods to use. All these different technology is what give us an extra hand. Christian Health Administrators can ensure responsible use with technology, by making sure that the systems they use in hospitals so that they are able to manage the employees, patients, chart records, medicine, and financial data so that the doctor will understand what that patient need treatment for. I worked in a hospital before as an assistant, I was the youngest, but while working there, I encountered so much technology they were using, such as computers, blood pressure machines to check vital signs, even had a medicine station. They have to keep a medical record for the patients perspective, in case that patient every came back, their information will be in the system right along with they visit for. I do agree that technology is to help the facility improve it will grow and the patients will be happy to come back. The internet is taking over, when we use Google, we are thinking they know the answer to everything, but sometimes Google can be wrong. That is why it is best to go see an doctor, instead of using technology to figure out your solution. the Bible reads, “From whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love”. Ephesians 4:16.

Hello, all,

I believe that some physicians are aware that they were to be used as a vessel to promote healing. Unfortunately, many are in the profession only for monetary gain. As a believer in God, I trust that God will find a way to work with individuals who are working only for money. Like the story of the Samaritan woman at the well, Jesus knew that it was custom to not socialize with her kind, but he asked her for a drink of water. From that point on she changed her life, but what if she would have given the drink of water due to tradition? Jesus used her to show her people who God is, and he used an unlikely source. Just because their minds are focused on one thing does not mean God is not in the mix.

Working in the health industry requires us to have access to patient data. As humans, mistakes can be made in data entry, etc. As an Administrator, we must find ways to ensure patient data is accurate and protected. HIPAA was created to protect the privacy and security of individual health information. HIPAA legislation created a privacy rule and a security rule. According to the Department of Health and Human Services (2017), “the Privacy Rule, or Standards for Privacy of Individually Identifiable Health Information, establishes national standards for the protection of certain health information. The Security Standards for the Protection of Electronic Protected Health Information (the Security Rule) establish a national set of security standards for protecting certain health information that is held or transferred in electronic form. The Security Rule operationalizes the protections contained in the Privacy Rule by addressing the technical and non-technical safeguards that organizations called “covered entities” must put in place to secure individuals’ “electronic protected health information” (e-PHI).”

Technology can assist in providing better healthcare services. I hope with the push-in adopting EMR, healthcare providers will have much-needed tools to serve patients better. I believe if being an Administrator is your calling there needs to be a deeper understanding of patient’s rights and safety. A part of the ACA has a provision to protect patient PII (personal identifiable information). As Administrators, we need to that we adhere to the patient protection laws within ACA and HIPAA. Patient’s data has been taking and used without consent, and we must ensure not only they receive quality care, but we must protect their personal information as well. Where I work, we must take a HIPAA test every 12 months. We need to ensure that each staff member signs an ethics policy on how to use technology correctly and morally.

Technology is used all throughout this world. It has given Christianity a way to better others. Technology has improved in diagnosis and treatment, resulted in greater life, decrease of death as a factor that procedures are more safer with better outcome. This helps health administrators approach technology and the ways that will help better the patience they serve. It had given them a voice to preach the gospel to every individual whether they believe in God or not.” Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16, King James Version). God can heal all things through Christ. Nothing takes God by surprise. He sees all that is happening in the world good and bad. Having knowledge can and will increase the message that God wants his people to use the technology that will help individuals in the future . Christians have to stay focus, and do what is best for our fellowman. “And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do” (Genesis 11:6). It takes about the power of technology and how it is begin purposeful. God calls his children to interact with different types of people. Technology can take a person, a business, physicians along way in life because now in the world they need it.
