Analyzing Interviews in Pop Culture
Question Description
This week, we watched interviews featuring R. Kelly and Taylor Swift – one was contentious and talked about a very serious subject, one was calm and more lighthearted. These were chosen because both interviews made headlines when they were conducted.
For this assignment, begin by writing a brief explanation (approximately 250 words) analyzing and giving your reaction to the interviews, as well your opinion on the effects of these broadcasts in the world of pop culture.
Below the explanation described above, number your paper and answer these questions:
- Describe how the setting of each interview contributed to the interviews tone.
- Explain your thoughts on Gayle King’s reaction to her interview with R. Kelly, and how she handled the singer’s outburst.
- In your opinion, name the two most impactful questions from each interview.
- Name at least two additional questions you would have asked R. Kelly and Taylor Swift had you been the interviewer, and why you chose those two questions.
- Besides the above details, name at least one other unique observation from each of the interviews.
