1- Both concepts of community-oriented policing and problem-oriented policing both represent a real change in the provision of law enforcement services in different ways. Both forms of policing have different ways of addressing certain issues and different ways of dealing with crime in the community. According to Scheider, Champman, and Schapiro (2009), community-oriented policing perceives that social issues and fear of crime ought to get the consideration of police. Both essentially influence the personal satisfaction and have been demonstrated to be significant supporters of crime. It is additionally significant for the police to build up a mutual understanding with the community of their essential crucial objectives. People, in general, ought to be associated with forming the job of the police and the prioritization of public security issues. Problem-oriented policing is an investigative methodology for deliberately recognizing community issues, gathering and examining data about the issues, creating and actualizing reactions that can possibly dispense with or lessen issues, and assessing the reaction to decide their viability. Problem-oriented policing includes going past conventional police reactions to crime to proactively address issues that are of the doubt to communities (Scheider et al., 2009).

2- Community policing is an approach to law enforcement premised on the assumption that the police and citizens must work together to control crime (Worrall, 2015). According to Worrall (2015), problem-oriented policing is an approach to law enforcement that emphasizes identifying and solving specific problems (e.g., speeding, panhandling, drug sales, etc.). Community policing is more important because it allows the citizens to get involved and interact with law enforcement which is a way to build positive relationships amongst the citizens and the public service workers. According to Worrall (2015), problem-oriented policing focuses on the flexibility and the justice system’s adaptation to the crime problem. Allowing the community to voice their needs and concerns can prove to be beneficial. This community justice assumption emphasizes that criminal justice agencies (police, courts, corrections) cannot accomplish crime control alone; community participation is essential (Worrall, 2015).

3- community-oriented policing and problem-oriented policing are both significant in their own way. Community-oriented policing is known as the assumption that the police and citizens must work together to control crime. One even explains community policing as a new philosophy in which police and citizens team up together in their own creative ways that can eventually help solve “contemporary” problems related to crime, fear of crime, social and physical disorder, and neighborhood decay (Worrall,2015). Now on the other hand if we take a look at problem-oriented policing we would see that it is known as a approach to law enforcement that focuses solely on being able to identify and solve specific problems such as speeding, panhandling, drug sales, and much more. Problems can range from big to smaller issues, this can include gang violence, neighborhood theft, and much more. If looking at which kind of policing is the absolute best I would have to choose community-oriented policing simply because it is up to the citizens within a community to control the amount of crime that goes on around them. Police can only do so much when it comes to controlling the crime. It is the community that has total control over it because they are the main ones involved or creating it. If police and communities can come together and help one another we would see a significant amount of change and a drop in violence. In all I believe both type of policing strategies are important and that we must start taking control of our own actions to contribute to safe community for ourselves and loved ones.
