After watching the film “Argo”, you are to write a 3-4 page response essay thatreflects on the course textbook, Inter-Act. You may use any of the chapters from the textbookto link concepts/theories to the film. The purpose of this assignment is to determine theconcepts we discussed in class and link it to the film.
Synopsis: In November 4, 1979, as the Iranian revolution reaches its boiling point, militantsstorm the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, taking 52 Americans hostage. But, in the midst of the chaos,six Americans manage to slip away and find refuge in the home of Canadian Ambassador KenTaylor. Knowing it is only a matter of time before the six are found out and likely killed, theCanadian and American governments ask the CIA to intervene. The CIA turns to their top“exfiltration” specialist, Tony Mendez, to come up with a plan to get the six Americans safelyout of the country. Based on real events, “Argo” chronicles the life-or-death covert operationto rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis, focusingon the little-known role that the CIA and Hollywood played—information that was notdeclassified until many years after the event. Your Main Focus:The film represents plenty of theoretical examples that relates to InterpersonalCommunications. The main intent of the essay is to select as many examples from the film(choose any characters, scene, and situations) and link it to a discussion from any of thechapters from the course textbook.
